THE STORY BEHIND HOW KATELYN MET SANTA
OK, so it wasn't as innocent as it looks...you see, Katelyn didn't KNOW Santa was behind her! We did this as a surprise for daddy:) I took her to Sears since I heard they were having a Santa there and I KNEW Katelyn probably wouldn't sit on his lap easily. SO, we arrived, she saw him and ran over to hug my leg. I knew at that point this wasn't going to be fun and debated leaving. Well, Lerna (the photographer), assured me that she could do it....so, lo and behold, we took the pictures below, and the last 2 pictures we took were with Santa.. Santa hid behind the set until we had Katelyn posed and then he snuck out and CAREFULLY posed next to her. Poor innocent Katelyn saw him right after the camera clicked, and well...SCREAMED at Santa Claus "NOOOOOOOO!" Lerna picked Katelyn up and walked out of the room with me as we comforted Katelyn, assuring her that the big old jolly man was gone. It took a bit of convincing to get her back in there for the picture above. (We had to re-take the picture since Santa had BLINKED in the first one!!!!!) So, we sat Katelyn down and did the picture again and as soon as the camera clicked this time (the shot you see above), Katelyn turned her head, saw Santa, and that was the end of the shoot! She flipped out, jumped out of the chair into my arms and held on to me with all her might. There was no calming her down at that point...she wanted to LEAVE! So, thank goodness for the good thinking of Lerna the photographer:)hehe She deserves a raise...for not only do I have a cute picture of Katelyn with Santa, but geez...this is her 2nd time photographing Katelyn this week and look at these awesome shots! WOOHOO! Plus, I have quite the funny tale to tell Katelyn someday of the year she discovered Santa...
